Eindrücke
for orchestra (1973-1974)

Written in 1973-1974 for the Zurich Tonhalle Gesellschaft, Eindrücke rests on an indefinite time perspective. Conceived as a commentary on two preceding works for orchestra, Bewegung (1971) and Still (1972), Eindrücke unfolds, as in a dream, the distant memory of a march and of a melody. It is an ostinato of two fragmented discourses, indifferent to each other and almost immobile, transforming very slowly, pursuing and crossing themselves and never meeting...
