Location of the orchestra*

6 areas:
I: cl basso, 2 cl, 2 ob, 4 fl, 8 vc;
II: ctr.bsn, 2 bsn, 2 sax, cl picc, 6 cb;
III: 2 hp, pno, glock, cel, xyloph, marimbaph, vibraph;
IV: 4 hrn A, drums-bells, 5 trp;
V: timp, 3 trb and tuba, 4 hrn B;
VI: 10 vln, 10 vla.

*The six "areas" of the orchestra should be located with the maximum possible distance between them.

Basic instrumentation of each band: 2 1 3 0 – 2 2 3 3 – 2 perc – sop.sax, alto sax, t.sax or bass cl, 6 flhn. This instrumentation has to be multiplied ad lib., possibly with at least 400 players.
